Well, now that I have an iPad, no excuses for not blogging right? I do something relating to quilting everyday, so hopefully with the portable access I will be able to check in more often.

Last week I taught 4 classes in 2 days in Oconomowoc then spoke at Oconomowoc Quilters Guild. Whew! Lots of stuff in just a few days.  One of the classes I taught was Build a Star workshop. The coolest thing about this class (I call it "worth the price of admission") is that you don't sew through the paper! What, you say? That's right, you use freezer paper, fold on the sewing line and then sew right next tot he folded paper. Wow! Anyway, here is a pic of one of my students projects. Great job!

I will be at Southport Quilters Guild in Kenosha,WI Sunday the 1st of April for a workshop, then Monday evening for a lecture. Please join us if you can! I promise fun for all! See their website here

I hope you all will be able to join us at the Sewing and Quilt Expo in Schaumburg at the Renaissance Center this Thursday through Saturday, Our booth (number 833) will be stocked with machines and fabric so you can sit and sew with us, sign a block for a donation, or buy a pattern to make your own QOV or any other fast and easy project. This booth will be very near the traveling Quilts of Valor display in the far right hand corner of the exhibit hall as you enter. Please stop by and say hello, sit and sew, and meet me or one of the other fabulous folks that help out on a regular basis. Our "troops" so to speak!

Posting resolutions

QwM Here I come!!!

I am getting excited about teaching at QwM again this year! My applique class filled, but I have a new class, "Design a Star with Paper Piecing" You will learn to make your own fabulous paper pieced star for a wallhanging, or when you get home you can design more for a whole quilt! A great way for those who have perhaps paper pieced a bit but want to improve their comfort level with it. Please let me know via my website if you have any questions!!

Kankakee Here I come!

Just a quick note to let you know I am speaking tomorrow night at Kankakee Quiltmakers (actually in Bourbonais at the Library at 7 PM tomorrow the 14th. The next day we are going to peel an orange! I am teaching my Orange Peel Workshop. Lots of fun. hope to see you!!!

I have been working like crazy and 3 days before Christmas I have finally caught up! This was a T-Shirt quilt I made for a lady, and the shams are made from clothing as a memory quilt

Buster's First Snow!!!

Well, the last two days it's been very difficult getting the little guy to do his necessaries! All he wants to do is play in the snow!

I just finished this quilt for a customer's granddaughter. It is for her big girl bed and she used alot of polka dots, so the request was for anything circles! So cute!

Hey-cute story. A lady I quilt for brought her 4 year old son one day to the studio, and he was terrified of me! She couldn't figure out why until he whispered to her "Mommy, why is this lady's arms just as long as yours?" HA HA All the time she had been saying she was going to the longarm quilters, he was thinking I was some monster with really long arms!!!!

Woo Hoo!!!!

I had such a great time at Quilting with Machines in Huron Ohio this last week. I met some wonderful ladies and sure hope I see a bunch of them next year! And, I did okay on the competition. My newest quilt, Will it go Round in Circles?" got a first place in Applique Bed and a third in Overall Bed (WOW!) My machine applique quilt "Through My Garden Window" got an Honerable Mention, and My "Paradise Lost" got a Teachers Choice from Richard King with Innova. Men have always favored that quilt, that is the third time it got some sort of "Men's Choice" or ribbon from a man......
